It only took me 38 years to become an author! All those years of reading and writing and reading some more paid off. Now my book is on the shelves of my local bookstore, available at character publishing and soon to be available on Amazon.
Although the cake was red when we went to pick it up, that mishap was quickly resolved.
My son James took some fantastic and artistic pictures.
Several writer friends showed up too!
Thank you to all of you who who've helped me along the way.
I feel privileged to know you.
Wonderful, Kirsti! I'm so glad we could be there. Congratulations again. It is a blessing to know you.

Deletewow! 38 years? I'm going on 35 from the time I decided I wanted to be a children's book author. But, I've been super serious at it for about 5 years now, so hopefully I'm getting close. Congrats to you!! Wishing you continued success!
ReplyDeleteWell, I've kind of always wanted to be an author, but I got serious about it 3 years ago. I was just lucky that someone wanted one of my stories so quickly. I'm realizing how hard it is, now that my other stories are getting repeatedly rejected. I feel blessed to have one book and I'll just keep working towards getting other stories out there!
DeleteSo sorry to have missed it! Totally iced in here. Will Raindrop become a snow crystal? ;-D Glad you had such a marvelous crowd. The lovely woman who manages those events really keeps those children under her spell!
